Cross-Border Questions
Does my project partner in the RoI/NI have to be based in the ICBAN region?
|
It is compulsory that in order to be eligible to apply for funding, all projects must demonstrate joint management and implementation between a minimum of one partner from either side of the border. This is not restricted to partners being located in the ICBAN region specifically – partners can be drawn from across the eligible area, i.e. the Six Counties of N. Ireland and the Six Border Counties (Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan and Sligo).
|
What defines Cross Border?
|
The Philosophy of cross-border co-operation is that of genuinely joint co-operation between two neighbouring border areas and the first principle of cross-border programmes is partnership. A project is cross-border in nature if partners of both sides of the border participate in terms of content, organisation, staffing or funding. |
Which Cross Border Partnership should I submit my application to?
|
All Project Promoters should submit their applications to the Irish Central Border Area INTERREG IIIA Partnership where:
all Project Promoters are based in the ICBAN region, with beneficiaries and impact in the ICBAN REGION;
or
where the majority of project implementation will take place in the ICBAN region;
or
where a project impacts equally (or to a similar degree) in two (or more) Cross Border Partnership areas, e.g. ICBAN and East Border Region, then the project promoter can submit the application to either organisation.
