Councillor Michael McBride elected as Chair of ICBAN for 2025/26

At ICBAN’s recent AGM held in Donegal County Council Chamber in Lifford, Councillor Michael McBride from Donegal County Council was elected as the new Chairperson for 2025/26, and Mid Ulster District Councillor Mark Robinson was elected as Vice-Chair.

The new Chairperson, thanked his proposers and said that it was a privilege to have been elected to the role of leading ICBAN into 2026. Remarking on his focus for the next year Councillor McBride said, “I very much look forward to leading ICBAN into 2026, in what I imagine will be a very exciting year for the organisation as we begin to see the tangible benefits of projects being delivered for the Central Border Region. 2026 is shaping up to be a busy year; one that will bring many benefits and opportunities to our local communities. I look forward to working with the Management Board, member Councils, project partners, and the ICBAN staff to promote all the various projects and initiatives.”.

Councillor McBride also thanked the outgoing Chair Eugene McConnell for his commitment to cross-border cooperation.
