The Border Compass Project included a series of elements, which required collaborative working between different project partners.
Border Navigator 2019/2020
Reconciliation Fund Projects
The initiative provided an opportunity to build upon the outcomes of the 2018 Border Compass Project and had two key project elements; a research study relating to BREXIT; and a forum for strategic development.
Border Catalyst, 2021
Reconciliation Fund Projects
Border Catalyst is the fourth in a series of research projects between ICBAN and Queen’s University Belfast on the impacts of Brexit on border region communities.
Border Transition, 2022
Reconciliation Fund Projects
A new community development initiative with a focus on climate change was delivered in 2022 for the communities in and around both Upper and Lower Lough MacNean (covering both sides of the border in Counties Cavan, Leitrim and Fermanagh).
INTERREG IIIA
Past EU Programmes
A total of €23 million was delivered under INTERREG IIIA for 70 projects across a spectrum of sectors.
INTERREG IVA
Past EU Programmes
ICBAN and partners were successful in securing over €14 million in funding from the INTERREG IVA 2007-2013 Programme. ICBAN assumed the role of Lead Partner in managing seven projects under the themes of Enterprise, Tourism and Collaboration.
Digi2Market Project
Past EU Programmes
The project has enabled SMEs in peripheral regions to increase sales and exports through the use of story-telling marketing techniques that integrate immersive technologies such as Virtual and Augmented reality.
Spot-Lit Project

The untapped potential of literary tourism has been the focus of Spot-lit, to grow the literary tourism sector in the Northern Periphery and Arctic region.
