Project Overview

Building Stronger Institutions for a More Resilient Region

ICBAN ICBAN

BRIDGE is a cross-border initiative that aims to strengthen governance, leadership, and institutional capacity in the border counties of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Led by East Border Region and supported by ICBAN, the partners will engage with 12 local authorities and involve 775 participants, including locally elected members and local government officials over 3 years.

By addressing long-standing governance challenges and leveraging skills development and collaboration, BRIDGE seeks to build institutional capacity, trust in leadership and a sustainable border region.

A Structured Approach to Building Institutional Capacity

The project involves 2 key work packages, each with a set of targeted activities and deliverables that contribute to the project’s main outputs:

  1. Leadership & Skills Development
  2. Collaboration & Institutional Networks.

The main output of these combined work packages is the joint engagement of 14 organisations, who will demonstrate increased institutional capacity. This is achieved through their direct involvement in cross-border knowledge exchanges, leadership and governance training programmes, and collaborative networks.
